On July 10th, 2012, ACAP was presented with a NYC Neighborhood Achievement Partnership Award from New York Small Business Services.
The award ceremony took place at Gracie Mansion

紐約市小商業局(SBS)10日在曼哈坦瑰西園(Gracie Mansion)頒發2012年度社區成就獎(Neighborhood Achievement Awards)，表揚全市五區的17位獲獎者，其中美國華人醫師會(Association of Chinese American Physicians，簡稱ACAP)因為致力於服務華人社區，獲得年度最佳夥伴獎(Partnership Award)。頒 獎典禮由代表市長彭博出席的副市長史堤爾(Robert Steel)和小商業服務局局長華許(Robert Walsh)共同主持。社區成就獎於2002年創立，表彰個人、組織在社區事務上的貢獻。該獎共有八個獎項，除了最佳夥伴獎(Partnership Award)外，包括年度小商業獎(Small Business of the Year Award)、發展獎(Development Award)、勞動力創新獎(Workforce Innovation Award)等。
獲年度小商業獎的商家都各有特色，其中布碌崙兩 位年輕姐妹創立的杯子蛋糕店「Brooklyn Cupcake」，為當地創造了很大的經濟效益，包括創造八個工作機會，整頓空置20年的店面，以及結合公益回饋社區。另外皇后區長島市的有機農場 「Brooklyn Grange Farm」，利用4萬平方呎的屋頂空間打造出都市綠洲，創造出1萬5000磅農產品產值的生產力，令人印象深刻。
而 今年獲得社區成就獎的唯一華人團體—美國華人醫師會成立已15年，目前有來自全國600多名華人執照醫生會員。協會秘書王元聰表示，該會扎根法拉盛，以培 植華人醫生、向華人社區推廣健康教育、促進美中醫生交流為宗旨，成立15年後能夠獲得紐約市府的認同及表揚，協會的醫師們都感到非常高興且非常榮耀。
協 會會員徐如良表示，華人因為文化上的差異，不論是在接受醫療或是健康觀念都和美國社會略為不同，該協會很多在中國和美國都受過醫學訓練的醫生有感於此，特 別投身在結合東西醫學的健康觀念推廣工作上，並且致力於培植下一代的華人醫師，除了帶領他們了解華人社區在醫療方面的需求，也啟發他們對東西方醫學領域的 探討研究，希望能夠更好地服務華人社區。

Outpatient Parenteral Antibiotic Treatment (OPAT) Unit
We encourage all community physicians to make use of the NYHQ OPAT UNIT open 7:30am to 4pm seven days a week, including all holidays. OPAT is under the direct supervision of the NYHQ Infectious Diseases Faculty. We offer an alternative to the outpatient home and short-term rehabilitation administration of IV antibiotics as well as other IV treatments. This is an ideal service for either early hospital discharge or avoidance of hospitalization for ambulatory patients. Services provided include free parking, IV placement and care, coordination of referral services, and communication with referring clinicians. OPAT diagnoses include cellulitis, osteomyelitis, endocarditis, pneumonia, pyelonephritis, prostatitis, abdominal infections, dehydration, anemia, etc... For direct referrals during working hours, please call 718-670-2289. After hours, the NYHQ Infectious Diseases resident-on-call may be contacted at 718-670-1234.
