We are looking for an American/Canadian trained General Pediatrician of Chinese ethnicity who speaks Mandarin. The position is in a private 80-bed Children’s Hospital but attached to an 800-bed public Pediatric Hospital, located 70 miles from Shanghai.
Pediatricians see primarily general pediatric illnesses, such as ENT, dermatology, and respiratory disease. The ambulatory care service is very busy.
This is a rare opportunity to practice/experience Western medicine in a Chinese setting.

North East Medical Services (NEMS)
is one of the largest community health centers in the United States (Over 60 providers) targeting the medically underserved Asian population. Based in San Francisco, the nonprofit community health center offers comprehensive healthcare services to a variety of patients, a majority of whom are uninsured or low-income.
The Medical Director (MD) reports to the Chief Medical Officer and provides leadership in all areas relating to the clinical operation of the main clinic. The MD position is approximately 70% administrative/leadership and 30% clinical. Physician Team Leaders are in place for the Adult Medicine, Pediatrics and OB/GYN departments at the main clinic and they report directly to the Medical Director. Direct reports also include the Health Education Manager, Mental Health Providers, Optometrist, Chiropractor, Acupuncturist and other clinical or administrative positions involving the clinical staff.
The MD also provides outpatient care in the clinic and takes night/weekend call approximately two weeks per year. There are established Hospitalist programs where inpatient care is provided to NEMS patients.

Outpatient Parenteral Antibiotic Treatment (OPAT) Unit
We encourage all community physicians to make use of the NYHQ OPAT UNIT open 7:30am to 4pm seven days a week, including all holidays. OPAT is under the direct supervision of the NYHQ Infectious Diseases Faculty. We offer an alternative to the outpatient home and short-term rehabilitation administration of IV antibiotics as well as other IV treatments. This is an ideal service for either early hospital discharge or avoidance of hospitalization for ambulatory patients. Services provided include free parking, IV placement and care, coordination of referral services, and communication with referring clinicians. OPAT diagnoses include cellulitis, osteomyelitis, endocarditis, pneumonia, pyelonephritis, prostatitis, abdominal infections, dehydration, anemia, etc...
