Huachen Wei, MD, PhD


Huachen Wei, M.D., Ph.D. is a tenured Professor of Dermatology, Director of Dermatology Research at Mount Sinai Medical Center, and a chief of dermatology service at Queens Hospital Center. Dr. Wei obtained his MD from Shandong Medical University, his MPH from Beijing Medical University, and his Ph.D. from New York University in 1991. He served as an Assistant Professor at University of Alabama at Birmingham from 1992-1995, and joined Mount Sinai as an Associate Professor of Dermatology in 1995. He completed his internship and Dermatology residency at Mount Sinai Hospital. He has published over 150 scientific papers and abstracts on basic and clinical sciences, and has received over 30 research grants from various agencies, including 5 National Institute of Health (NIH) R01 research awards. He was the recipient of the prestigious awards from American Academy of Dermatology, Dermatology Foundation, and Nelson Paul Anderson memorial award from Pacific Dermatology Association. Dr. Wei is board certified dermatologist with a practice at Elmhurst, New York. He is currently serving as the president of ACAP for the term of 2004-2006.
